    Yes I looked a bit closer and all the newer posts are there.
    Just the ‘freshness’ is wrong on the main folder as you say.

    That should be the correct shortcut (works for me).
    Make sure you are only selecting the name inside the quotes and not the quotes as well.
    If the shortcut doesn’t work you can use the ‘Edit GDL Library Parts’ toolbar.

    Select just the macro name inside the quotes and the OPEN the library part (CTRL+SHIFT+O on Windows machine).

    Had a bit of a play and if you turn mask value 1 off (i.e. leave just 2+4) then all is good.
    Likewise turn transparency off in 3D window settings all is good.
    Seems like mask 1 is forcing the object to think it is transparent?

    I am not sure what the problem could be – it is definitely working for me.
    Other than the obvious that shadows are off in the 3D window settings or the sun is 0% in the 3D projection settings > more sun.
    But I am sure that is not the case here.

    Just out of curiosity I thought I would try it again.
    This time no shadow – see attached image.
    Slabs and object next to each other.
    It worked before but not now it seems.

    I had no problem in 20 with your original mask of 7.

    But I see from your image you are still in the GDL editor 3D preview.
    I was looking at the actual Archicad 3D window.

    Maybe the shadows just don’t work in the GDL 3D window?

    I am not having any problem with your original code (I had to change the texture image and the fill in the material).
    Can you post a screen shot of what you are seeing?
    Are your sun/shadow settings the same in both versions?

    I’m not quite sure if I follow exactly what you need but TUBE allows you to extrude a polygon along a path of two (or more) points.
    You need two extra ‘dummy’ points in the path for the start and end points.
    These are used to start and end the path and control the angle of the end surfaces of the extruded (or swept) polygon.
    If all the points are perfectly in line then the ends will be perpendicular to that line.
    If not in line then the end surfaces will bisect the angle formed by the first 3 and last 3 points in that path (i.e. points 1,2 & 3 and points 2,3,& 4 if you only have a total of 4 points in the path (2 dummy and 2 real)).

    Excellent.

    Thanks Gergely,
    Looks like it is working better now.
    I received an email and can see you new post.

    I only mentioned the star rating/like feature because I saw them mentioned in the ‘News” section.
    may be best to remove that info if you haven’t already.

    Any chance of an “Edit’ function for old posts?
    I am good at not spelling correctly or occasionally giving incorrect info so I like to be able to fix the original post.
    Not super important if you can’t or if you have a reason not to.
    Just a wish.

    Thanks for the update.

    I received 4 emails because I am subscribed to this topic but I see no replies here at all.
    An yes I am signed in.

    However if I follow the link in each of the e-mails 3 of them take me to the same topic and show that one reply – “test”.
    One of them logs me in automatically – the other 2 didn’t.
    And one of those e-mails show the reply as “test message” but sows the reply “test” like the other two.
    The 4th e-mail link with the message “ysdyvsvsdvsy” takes me to the forum where my reply is the last message and logs me in automatically.

    Note: was already logged in as I had opened the forum before following the links in the e-mails.

    Had a quick look around and it all looks pretty straight forward.
    I like it better than the old one.

    In the News section there is an old entry saying we can add star rating to learning , tips & tricks articles – can’t see that.
    Also ‘Like’ forum posts – can’t see that either.

    Will we still get the little red buttons indicating where the new post in the forum are?
    Not very easy to identify new post otherwise.

    I can’t seem to open my profile either.
    Was hoping to see if I can set automatic reply to posts.

    Are the ‘Favourite’ & ‘Subscribe’ links at the top of the post supposed to do anything – because they don’t except bring up a message asking if I was sure I want to do that.

    in reply to: What is the proper replacement for GLOB_CONTEXT=1? #2923

    Thanks Christoper,
    So the value will always be ‘0’ in the GDL editor and an actual value when the object is placed in the model.
    This would work and I will keep it in mind if I need it in future.
    For now I have solved most of my issues by migrating to newer objects and swapping the parameters as necessary that way.

    We have GLOB_VIEW_TYPE values of 2 to 9 – why couldn’t we have a value of ‘1’ I wonder for the library part editor?
    There must be a reason why not.

    GLOB_CONTEXT while deprecated (and no longer listed in the GDL reference) still seems to work (in 2D and 3D scripts) and in Master script as long as it is not trying to set as a parameter.
    I hope this will still be the case as I have many hundreds of objects that use it many times in 2D & 3D scripts.
    Maybe Gergely can confirm if this OK or will GLOB_CONTEXT just not work at all in future versions?
    I have managed to eliminate it from all of my Master scripts but would hate having to go through all the 2D & 3D scripts to fix the problems.
    I notice there are still version 20 objects using it so I am hoping it is safe to continue with it.

    You are using just a single hotspot.
    You need a moveable or stretchy hotspot.
    In fact you need 2 – one to move horizontally and the other vertically.

    Something like this…

    unID = 1000

    !!!!!!!!!!!! x-axis stretchable

    HOTSPOT2 0, textOffset_y, unID, textOffset_x, 1+256
    unID=unID+1
    HOTSPOT2 -0.001, textOffset_y, unID, textOffset_x, 3+128
    unID=unID+1
    HOTSPOT2 textOffset_x, textOffset_y, unID, textOffset_x, 2
    unID=unID+1

    !!!!!!!!!!!! y-axis stretchable

    HOTSPOT2 textOffset_x, 0, unID, textOffset_y, 1+256
    unID=unID+1
    HOTSPOT2 textOffset_x, -0.001, unID, textOffset_y, 3+128
    unID=unID+1
    HOTSPOT2 textOffset_x, textOffset_y, unID, textOffset_y, 2
    unID=unID+1

    !!!!!!!!!!the text

    TEXT2 textOffset_x,textOffset_y,txtParam

    The initial UNID can be set to whatever value you want.
    The trick is hotspots should always have different values so if you repeat the hotspots again reset with a new UNID
