how to get the surface name of a complex wall

I have a label which uses “WALL_MAT_A” and “WALL_MAT_B” to return the index of the wall surface
This works well in all cases except when I overwrite the surface of a complex profile.
If I edit the surface in the profile (in the profile manager) it works OK but not when I overwrite the surface in the Wall dialogue.
Suggestions anyone?

Having checked this out in more detail I conclude this is serious bug which poses a serious limitation when trying to annotate surfaces.

Hi David,

we added this as a bug to be fixed. Currently you can’t get the overridden surface from GDL.
