It’s not clear for me, what you exactly need… Connecting two points can be done with many commands. Can you post an image about the goal?

GRAPHISOFT SEGergely FehérKeymasterHi Barry,
Thanks for your posts!
We had some serious issues with the forum engine: something messed up between the forum’s user roles and the site’s user handling. I hope that we solved it yesterday evening and it will work normally from now on. The test messages was made by us during testing, sorry for the mails.
In your first post you mentioned the rating and likes – this was a commercial widget, which we introduced a few weeks after the original site started, but nearly nobody used it for months, and we had regular compatibility issues after it’s updates – so we discontinued paying for it.
The red “new” flags were made by an other plugin – we ‘re still testing if it is compatible with the new theme and plugins, and will try to re-enable it soon. The same applies for the profile editing, we’re working on it…
The favorite and subscribe came from the update forum engine, I’ll investigate it in the near future.

GRAPHISOFT SEGergely FehérKeymasterYes, the maximum number of parameters is 1024 in a library part. And no, we do not want to increase this limit – and I strongly believe that it is much more than needed. In my opinion the number of parameters should be strongly reduced in objects for a better usability.

GRAPHISOFT SEGergely FehérKeymasterThanks for the report – but you’re right, it is bug report that should be handled within the normal support channels. Now you don’t need to go back to the support, we’ll check it soon.

GRAPHISOFT SEGergely FehérKeymasterSorry, I don’t understand what do you want to do. Please try to give a clear “requirement” for the functionality you need.

GRAPHISOFT SEGergely FehérKeymasterIf you give exact values to a macro (
call "macro" parameters B = 0.9
) then the macro will draw with this exact value… You should usecall "macro" parameters B = B
instead to be able to follow the changes of B parameter in your macro’s scripts.Gergely Fehér

GRAPHISOFT SEGergely FehérKeymasterPlease attach a sample file (in zip). It should work, so we need to check your solution to find the problem.

GRAPHISOFT SEGergely FehérKeymasterHi Joachim,
Here is a post about reading xml files: https://gdl.graphisoft.com/tips-and-tricks/how-to-use-the-gdl-xml-add-on/ In this sample you can check moving to a node with a name – so I think that you can jump to a product node, and check the ID in different steps. There is an example for getting the info from CDATA too.

GRAPHISOFT SEGergely FehérKeymasterPen of rgb request needs a string with 3 numbers in it – so there is no trick. If you need to use variables with that, then you need to create your own “r g b” string with the str function first, and then use it with the request.

GRAPHISOFT SEGergely FehérKeymasterYou can request the formatting string to the project’s working units, for example
REQUEST ("Linear_dimension", "", format_string)
Please check the available requests in the documentation. After you have the formatter string, you need to create a string from the specific parameters value, with theSTR
orSTR{2}
functions, you’ll find the docs with sample on this page.Gergely Fehér

GRAPHISOFT SEGergely FehérKeymasterDetail Worksheet Marker Macro is a “built-in” library part, which means it is included in ARCHICAD itself, not the lcf. You can open it in GDL editor, and save it to any other place on your computer with “Save as…”

GRAPHISOFT SEGergely FehérKeymasterEnabling these request in parameter scripts would cause problems: if you can reach properties in parameter script, then you can store them as parameter values. After placing an object and storing it’s parameters, you can easily change the properties – so the stored information will be outdated and can cause problems in lists and schedules, as there is no way to force parameter script run on all placed library parts in a whole project. Running all instances parameter script would be extremely slow in huge project and could affect the model appearance, which means a problem in background processing. And, if there would be a function to do that, you can’t do that in teamwork without reserving all library parts to make changes on their parameters…
